The way we are, now

What has changed the most in the last 30 years?
Physically, I have a slightly bigger waist, darker teeth, some white hair, and a few wrinkles.
Emotionally, I am less optimistic, more defensive (internally), more realistic.
Outwardly, I have a lot less to say.

My waist is no longer tiny (thank you menopause).
My hair is lighter (thank you Emily, hairdresser)
I value what I have rather than what others have.
I am better at seeing the point of view of others and am less judgemental as a result
I appreciate my family
I marvel at how old I thought my mother was when she was 45 (I was 21) and now I am 47 and my kids are 6 and 7. I must seem ancient to them!

Love this!

When my mother was about to turn 50, I was 16 and my brother was 26. Now I am about to turn 50, and my kids are 7 and 9.

My mother never rode on a roller coaster with me. I have to beg my kids to ride the roller coasters with me.
