Approximage cost for building built-ins?

We have an alcove about 7 feet wide and a few feet deep. We'd love to put in built-in bookcases, ideally with some kind of cabinets as well. Any idea how much this type of project tends to run? Thanks!

We put in bookshelves/cabinets/desk (all one unit about 8ish feet wide, 7ft high) - it was $6500. Some company in VA - they did a good job, and the built-ins looks great. Expensive though!
