Need some trendy recommendations for work events....

DCUM, please don't fail me now! I'm a major foodie but feel very out of the loop on the local scene, and now have to make some recommendations for clients on DC spots that fit the following criteria. Can you please help?!

Looking for your favorites, preferably in DC but anywhere in nearby area OK:

Juice and/or coffee bars
Bakeries, particularly those that are unusual in some way
Sandwich type places -- trendy and definitely not chains
Places that serve things (drinks/ desserts, etc.) in flights
Candy/ chocolate places

Thank you so much....

Can't help you on this one. I see this sometimes on menus but typically not the whole focus of the place.

Sandwich places:

Near the White house: G Street Food and Breadline. I believe G Street was co-founded by Breadline founder Mark Fursenberg, though he's left. Both serve very high quality creative sandwiches, soups, and salads. I highly recommend the Cubano at both!

Taylor Gourmet: downtown location and also one in Bethesda. Great heros on fantastic Sarcone's bread from Philadelphia.

Shake Shack is an import from Danny Meyer's NYC restaurant empire. Delish burgers & shakes in Dupont location. Basically fast food but made with quality ingredients.
