Anyone allergic to lobster?

What were your symptoms the first time you ate it? DD just had a few bites yesterday and got really sick within a half an hour. It was the only food she ate that she had never eaten before, and no one else got sick.

A friend is allergic and she gets a rash and her eyes swell up. Not sure that getting sick is a sign of allergy - maybe just a bad lobster?

Actually, quite a few people are allergic to seafood. My son's reactions included wheezing, feeling of tightening in the throat area, and rash. For him, the symptoms would start in about 15 minutes.

Me, but it's a GI reaction -- horrible stomach cramps and vomiting. My mother gets exactly the same thing.

I thought it might be iodine but both of us only get it with lobster and can eat all other kinds of shellfish.

My sister can't breathe after eating lobster. She turns a lovely shade of blue.
