AHHHH
It happened Thursday, and according to the plumber it was a fluke, a drain clogged, water backup up, the room got ALL wet and floors ruined.... I filed an insurance claim and they are coming out now to start water remediation.... but my house is on the market!!! I can't show it like this can I???? Realtor acts like it's not a big deal, that these things happen often. I know they do, although we've never had anything like this in th e7 years we've been at the place, but as a buyer I would be freaked out. Thoughts??? |
Yeah, that sucks. As a buyer, they are going to have some difficultly getting insurance because the property will have a water claim attached to it. Just be prepared for it to possibly take a little longer to sell. |
What do you mean it will be hard to get insurance? If they repair it within a week and claim is closed before closing it will still mess up them getting insurance?
UGH |
When you purchase insurance on a home, the insurance carrier runs a CLUE report which shows all of the home's previous claims. Insurance carriers are hesitant to insure homes with previous water damage because of mold issues, I suppose. |
