Yes, thank! Not quite there yet. But it's coming soon, and I'm actually ready to be there. Not even unhappy about it!

Another big thank-you here! My husband and I are both 50 somethings and we have two teen age children.

I'm early 50's with a preschooler (adopted). Life doesn't always happen the way you want it to. But glad to get to be a parent late in life.

I'm in my 50s with a child in 1st grade. Very late pregnancy. Plus I have teens, so I'm going through two phases of child rearing at once, plus perimenopause. I'm very happy to see this forum, and I hope it gets lots of activity.

I'm not thrilled with the Fifty and Over name, though. I am more interested in parenting past 50 -- that's mostly why I come to this site. I hope parents over 50 will post about parenting when you are older -- it's quite a different experience.

Thanks again, Jeff!

I hope this forum has something for everyone, parenting, dealing with older parents, retirement planning (mine's a disaster), work and career and all the rest of it. I like that folks "pushing: 50 feel free to post here, too! (OP here.)

I am not quite 50, but I think I will relate to the topics found here as I too an older mom with young kids (G1 and G2) with elderly parents who are in their 70s.
Thanks for this board!

Thanks Indeed. Fifty this year with a preschooler. Had infertility issues for over 20 years, just when I thought it was all over and menopause was setting in, found I was pregnant at 45! Past five years have been the happiest of my entire life. My heart still swells with joy and enormous love everytime my DD calls me Mommy!

Nothing like being 50 with a 13 and an 11 year old!
