Hello Ladies, I am looking for opinions on the Garnier Nutrisse line of hair color. I have been using clairol and loreal products and want to venture to another brand. I have found that with these two brands, if I want my hair a certain color I have to go a few shades lighter because these brands make my hair look much darker than the picture on the box. Any insights on Garnier appreciated! |
I use it and like it. I recommend you go a shade or two lighter than you think you want. |
I have dark blond hair naturally and that's what I try to match (I'm covering grays and trying to give a deeper, healthier look to my hair). But I have to say that all three brands that I've tried off-the-shelf -- L'Oreal, Clairol, and now Garnier (just started using it) -- all fade/get lighter as the six weeks wears on. So I end up with really light blond hair on the ends and my regular dark blond/gray roots.
So I really don't see much difference. The shades itself (Garnier), however, are really nice and look very natural. I'd like to find a step up from the $10 boxes but something less expensive than $100 highlights. ![]() |
Well, PP, you may try the Frederic Fekkai haircolor which they sell at Bloomingdales for about $25 or so. It is as you say a step up from the Clairols but saves a trip to the salon. |
Talk to your stylist about the cost of a single process color or perhaps a wash. You are not giving yourself highlights now, and there are less expensive professional options. |
the colors at Whole Foods are my favorites, and gentle. Do go lighter. Just do the roots and comb through near the end. Can be a way to alternate with salon treatments. |
