Recommend a restaurant for dinner with a friend

Anonymous
Friend is in visiting from NYC and we are having a girl's night out. We are 39-40 and eat/try anything. Looking for a lively, casual atmosphere and are willing to go to any DC neighborhood. Would also love a fun, more mature bar that we could walk to afterwards for a drink. TIA!

Go to Jaleo on 7th, Zaytinya on 9th or the new Graffiano on 6th. Lots of bars nearby to walk around.

OP here--Graffiato was a great suggestion! But the next reservation they have available is 10 PM on Monday!
I love Jaleo and Zataniya, and they are great fall backs...anything else?

There are two good restaurants in City Vista, at 5th and K. Mandu is pretty good Korean, and Kushi is Japanese. Kushi's a little more expensive. Both are good food, fun/trendy atmosphere.
For drinks afterwards, you could go to The Passenger across from the Convention Center.

CoCo Sala on 9th Street (I think) is delish and then you can walk to the bars in Chinatown. Hank's Oyster Bar at Q and 17th is fun... afterwards walk up to Dupont for a drink. Or go to Fox and Hound right around the corner from Hank's and sit outside.

SO noisy. I haven't been back since a miserable experience there two years ago. By the time the appetizers came, we basically stopped trying to talk with our friends; it was hopeless. Have they found a fix for the godawful noise level?
