My DD's cradle cap has not gone away yet. Is there anything special I should be doing for her to get rid of it?
Thanks! |
| selsum blue shampoo |
| I used an old home remedy: TBSP of olive oil and use a soft baby toothbrush to lift up the flakes. |
| Yes, a little olive oil or baby oil and a soft brush usually takes care of it. |
| I loved the Mustela cradle cap shampoo and used it with the soft bristled brush the hospital gives you (you can buy another at BuyBuy Baby if you lost it). The combo always did a great job on my babies. |
| Another vote for Mustela--we used the newborn foam shampoo (which is not cheap, but one bottle lasts a long time) when DS had cradle cap. |
| OP here - Thank you for the suggestions! I will definitely try it out! |

I loved the Mustela also.
Here's a trick I learned by accident: There is the stuff you can get at Whole Foods called "Egyptian Magic" (which my Doctor said was fine to use). It is a blend of beeswax and other similar things. I got it to use for eczema (which it was also good for) and it said on the advertisement that it softened without clogging pores and it made me think that it would work the cradle cap and it did! It was really amazing. She had it for so long (maybe until she was 9-months-old or something) and then if I didn't put the cream on it for one night it would come back again. Try the less expensive remedies listed above first and then try this if it doesn't work! |
