Language Immersion Program Question

So, I have a ? I haven't seen on the boards before. Let's say I apply to all 3 immersion programs, and get into one, but not the one I really wanted. And let's say there's another family in the same situation. Let's say we find each other and want to switch our spots around. Is it unheard of to get a spot in one program, and then request to find another family who might want to switch language program spots with me? No, I"m not in yet. My dd is only 4, and I'll be applying in the next go-around for her. But, I'm just wondering about this possibiity. I appreciate any insight. Thanks!

Sorry, it's strictly by lottery. If you turn down a slot, they will give it to the next higher number in the lottery, not to your friend. I still think it's a good idea to apply to several programs, however. Especially if you like your #2 choice is better than your local school, you're still better off.
