comparison between great falls/mclean ES and MS and rachel carson or rocky run areas

We are moving from MD to fairfax and have kids in ES. We are commuting into reston for work. Question: do you have any opinions/personal experience with the curriculum or have kids who have switched between the langley or mcclean pyramid elementary or middle schools and the oakton/chantilly schools (i.e. the rachel carson feeders)? It seems like the TJ admissions/academic AAP programs would be comparable but the homes are newer in the chantilly area. Does the langley/mcclean area have a stronger academic curriculum / experience for ES/MS? or they too close to call? how does longfellow compare with carson?
