Need an in-home behavior consultant

Anonymous
I have 3 kids ages 8, 6 and 5. The oldest and youngest (both boys) have ADHD (inattentive/impulsive, not hyperactive) and developmental delays, particularly the youngest. My DH is having problems managing the kids behavior, particularly the youngest. We've taken the positive discipline class, incorporate Magic 123, chaos to calm, etc. and I don't have the problems DH has. In fact, no one seems to have the problems DH has (not the special ed preschool, not the daycare, etc.). I know part of it is DH's ADHD and I know where/how he could manage things better but I've learned that helping him with this isn't going to do any good. For the sake of our marriage and my DH's relationship with our kids, I think it's time to bring someone into our home that can observe DH's interactions with the kids, see the dynamics and coach him. Can anyone recommend anyone? We live in the Alexandria section of Fairfax Co. Thanks!

You might want to look into the Kellar Center's in-home behavior therapy www.inova.org/kellar. We found their services to be immensely helpful. Good luck!

Dr. Robin Allen (aka Dr. Robin) is awesome but not taking new clients. It may be worth leaving a message to see if she recommends someone else (www.robinallen.com)

OP here - in case anyone is checking the archives for this kind of information. Kellar isn't accepting new patients for in-home behavior therapy (I called 6.22.11)
