I am taking my 7 month on a plane this coming week.....about a 4 hour flight - his first. We will be gone 4 days - work - staying in a hotel.
Questions: On the plane in my carry-on can I bring: 1. packaged baby food - the gerber carrots, peaches, etc in Gerber plastic containers? (they wouldn't be opened until on the plane) 2. bottles of his milk/formula in 7 ounces glass bottles? 3. jars of juice - apple juice, etc? (I mix his cereal with it & water) 3. containers with his oatemeal or rice cereal? Do you pack other baby food in your checked luggage for the rest fo the stay? I am concerned it will "explode" and I will have peahes everywhere - even if I put it in ziploc bags? Or do you just buy food there? I feel clueless on this one..................TIA |
| I had to bring the formula and then buy water when I got past security I think--If the apple juice is small you could put it in the 3 11 bag? Actually I think if the milk is mixed before security they don't take it but once you mix it it's good for one hour so I opted to not mix and get the water bottles after--hope that helps-I think they let you bring baby food too-just have it out--again if it fits in 311 bag that is good too |

I think most of the things you listed are ok to bring, except maybe the apple juice. They allow milk and food. Unless the juice is in a 3-4oz, I'm not sure if they would allow it.
I've packed juice boxes in the luggage and they did not implode. I've never tried packing jars of baby food, though. It's safer to buy it once you arrive at your destination. |

As it happens, I just printed out the TSA website on this issue this morning. They put juice in the same category as formula and breastmilk.
