| Watched this movie last night. Pretty damn depressing. Couple at the end of their relationship. Okay, they didn't have a lot going for them in the first place, but it seems to be about the death of love. Very disheartening. Very spooking. |

yes. i knew it going in but was curious to see it anyway and found it kind of angering at the end... why was she so willing to give up?? why didn't she want to try any longer?? if it was such a gradual downward spiral, they should have tried to work out their issues long before deciding to throw in the towel.
but at the same time, i guess it was a more real portrayal of marriage than any other movie. |
| I found her very unsympathetic and not really believable. But maybe that is because I am a man - my wife disagreed. I guess I didn't really see him as a loser like she did. |
| I thought it was decent, depressing, but at times a little hard to follow because they jumped around a bit. |
| I thought it was so good. So sad. I saw it in the movie theater and I was making a fool of myself b/c I was weeping. He loved her and the daughter so much. I guess she was just tired of his inertia. |
| I also loved it. So depressing, though. It haunted me for days. |
are you my DH? We had the same reaction- I thought he was a loser and DH thought she was cold. I loved the movie despite finding it depressing - but probably partially because I would like anything with those 2 actors in it.

My DH and I had the same reaction. He thought the husband's love for the kid redeemed his other faults; I thought the husband was a loser. |
