Hi there -
My family and I live in the Northwood cluster and we have three kids who are currently in preschool or private elementary. We're planning to send them to public HS but don't know so much about Northwood. Now that the school has been back in action for a few years, what are people's thoughts about it? I'm also wondering how possible it would be to send them to Blair via the Downcounty Consortium. Is the 'Choice' process an effective one, or is it closer to lip service from MCPS? Thanks for your thoughts! |

Blair is part of the DCC. However, if you're eyeing CAP and/or magnet, those are not programs with open enrollment. In terms of "lip service," the consortium office should have data regarding how many actually get their firest choice. http://www.montgomeryschoolsmd.org/departments/schoolchoice/ I believe most of the students in the NEC do get their first choice. |
I'm curious about Northwood too. Any other thoughts? |
