please recommend the quietest (small/mini) AC window unit

hello,

We have bars on the window where the unit needs to go so it has to be a small one. We currently have one that is so loud: alternates between a vast range of noises from loud buzzing to airplane taking off, etc... I can't take it anymore. Are there window units that are semi quiet? If so, can you recommend one?
