Fairfax County Public Schools (FCPS)
| If your child was not in the pool for center-based Level IV, when did you find out if they got into the local level IV program? |
|
Some children may be put with LLIV at the discretion of school. This is a classroom placement to balance the student loads rather than a formal placement, and there is no guarantee that the non-center eligible child will be placed in the LLIV class for more than one year.
In other words, there is no such thing as LLIV eligible -- only center eligible. With that said, at the classroom assignment time, you will presumably find out if your child is placed in the same class as the LLIV students. |

If your child was not in the pool and you didn't self refer, I would apply directly to your school for LL3 services. If your school finds you eligible, your child receives enrichment, which at most schools that do not have full LL4 classes, means placement in those classes. They typically pull from thier LL3 kids to fill out the advanced classes.
There are deadlines for this, so look into it ASAP if its something you might be interested in. Good luck! |
