Not in Takoma Park but I had an amazing meal at 8407 in Silver Spring recently. I kicked and screamed all the way there bc I live in downtown DC and thought it was ridiculous to go to SS for dinner. But it was soo delicious, really.

There are no good restaurants in Takoma Park. Roscoe's is terrible. Samantha's is very close and is very good:

Mrs k's basement bar-not actually TP but close, very cozy, great food, great atmosphere...stay away from the main floor it's like being at my grandmas! But the basement is awesome, it even has semi private rooms if you have a large group (like 8-12)

| Jackie's -- not Takoma, but right across the border near downtown SS. Funky decor, really nice, relatively unpretentious but well-prepared food, fun drinks, not a dress-up place, but a great place (we think) for a date night. |

| Takoma Park resident here-- all good recs (aside from the Roscoe bashing), and Silver Spring is just 2 miles away I don't think any TP resident would mind going got SS. Middle East Cuisine in TP is another very casual but tasty suggestion. |

| PP here... we actually just ate at Mrs' K's for the first time (dining room). Definitely an older clientele, but our dinners were great. We checked out the wine cellar and will definitely be back on another occasion to eat / drink there. |
