| Currently live in Dupont Circle area of DC. Have kids 5 and 2.5 year old. Both parents work full time in DC downtown. Would like to move to a nice neighborhood that works for all of us. Walking distance to a well visited playground that can meet other families, close enough to metro line and good schools with active PTA. Thanks!! |
| City of Falls Church |
| Chevy Chase DC by the Friendship Heights Metro stop and close to the almost newly renovated park (Livingston). |

OP, you may need to narrow a little bit. What's your housing pricepoint? Do you want single family or are you willing to be in a townhome? There are SO many neighborhoods that meet your description.
Check out Madison Manor/Dominion Hills/Westover neighborhoods in Arlington. Walkable to EFC Metro. Great playgrounds. Most parents seem to WOHM but there are also enough SAHMs around that the streets and playgrounds aren't totally empty. McKinley is an amazing elementary school. Walking distance to Westover. You can't grocery shop there, but Lost Dog Cafe is yummy and kid friendly. Ice cream shop, library, Arak Coffe, and the new-ish Westover Beer Garden. Houses are running from mid-600s up into roughly the mid-800s. |

| Del Ray / Rosemont, Alexandria, VA |
| Town of Chevy Chase. |
| Agreed - city of Falls Church. Has everything you mentioned in your post. |
| Downtown Silver Spring |
| You don't mention price, we moved recently from Dupont to North Cleveland Park and have been very happy. We are city people and both work in DC so we didn't want to move too far out. Our new neighborhood was just about the right distance away for us. |
| OP here. Thanks for all the responses. I delibrately left out price range for houses because I don't want to restrict the choices and we have flexibility. We would like to "settle down" and move into a nice neighborhood that have good public schools from elementary through high schools and do not need of worry about moving again. All else equal, closer to DC is better than further, but no compromise on the quality of education for the kids. |
| If price isn't an issue, then look at something *in-bounds* for Good ES/Deal/Wilson, you're bound to find something else that meets your other needs from there. |
| Lyon Village. Clarendon. |
Exactly. |
I believe this is called Van Ness or Forest Hills and we love it there too. Great public elementary schools, two metro stops and great playgrounds. Good luck with your move. |
