How to not go crazy with anticipation till donor cycles in August????

Anonymous
Hello everyone,

I just found out that my chosed donor will cycle only in August, i.e. egg retreival will probably take place end of August. I am already on the pill, but she will only start her pills at her next period. I know it does not sound too long, but it sure seems like a long time for me. Any suggestions on how to occupy myself till end-August, so I don't go nuts!!??? It is slow/boring at work right now, and most people are traveling during the summer, and I am stuck here just waiting, waiting (I am single) ...welcome your suggestions, or let me know if anyone else is in this situation.....

thanks!

Can you take some time off? I know that you've probably got a lot of money tied up in this cycle, but maybe a cheaper trip away to the mountains might help distract you...

yeah, thanks....I am trying to save vacation days for later when I will need it. And you are right, a lot of money has been set aside for this fresh cycle....so I am trying to come up with things like joining hiking groups, summer language courses, cooking classes and short trips to beaches, NYC and the sort..... if I could chose, I would just disappear for an entire month and travel....thanks anyway!

Those actually sound like excellent ideas. Because when (yes I'm saying "when!") you are pregnant, you'll probably not have time for those little "enriching" activities.

I've always wanted to spend a little time seeing DC like a tourist -- living here makes me very blase about all the beautiful monuments and museums and historical artifacts that we have here. So you might spend a few weekends rediscovering your backyard...educational AND cheap!

Good luck to you! If you need a friend to help you wait - let me know and I can give you my e-mail. Maybe also read some novels, TV, movies, Sierra club hiking, baseball games, shopping, cooking...

Go for something adventurous and fun that you won't be able to do once you get pregnant like tubing, white water rafting, winte tasting, mountain biking and such. And August will be here before you know it - at least for me time flies so fast in the summer.

Hi eveyone,

Thanks so much for your feedback. I managed to book a mini-vacation in July with a friend and some other friends might join from Canada. Only 5 days, but at least that is something to look forward to.
Thanks!

Go to weekly accupuncture! It is very relaxing and makes you at least feel
Like you are doing something productive to get your body ready.

I'd go with a vacation. I know this must be excruciatingly exciting!
