New mole on face, literally overnight?

DH didn't have this mole yesterday. It's on his cheek and isn't necessarily suspicious looking - very small, not very raised, smooth and even. It is dark but not black or red. My worry is that it appeared out of the blue. He has Rosacea and it's on a patch of red skin but is definitely a mole and not a scab or bump. Has anyone had something similar? He'll call our dermatologist tomorrow morning to get an appointment.

Adults grow new moles; they are a collection of pigment. It's not an alarming thing. But get it checked out for peace of mind.
