West McLean Neighborhood -- Nice Place to Live?

We're looking at different neighborhoods and came across a neighborhood we like called West McLean. It's walking distance to stores and is close to the elementary school (Franklin Sherman). Does anyone know that neighborhood? Is it a nice place to live? How is the elementary school. Thanks!

Can you be more specific--I live in
mclean but am not sure where that elementary school is--what main road and main cross street is this area close to?

Also, are there any good day care centers in McLean?

Fun and Friends and Tysons Corner Children's Center would both be good daycare centers near there. Read up on them on the Virginia Social Services site though, I know Fun and Friends has had a few violations that were more than just minor.

I know that there is a new Daycare being finished on Kirby--going toward Old Dominion--I am told that it is good since it was located somewhere else and they were finding more space. I can't remember the name but will drive by tomorrow and post the name unless any other Mclean mom's know what I am talking about. Can't tell you about the neighborhood since I don't know Cedar Ave--I do know Chainbridge and am thinking it's going toward Falls Church--correct?? If so it's an older neighborhood but you know, everything in Mclean is nice and the community center is awesome so I don't think you can go wrong. Lots of nice activities in Mclean--you just missed Mclean Day which is a nice community event. Welcome!
