sex after period was over-could I be pregnant?

had unprotected sex with my husband after the return of my first mentral cycle ended (just after the period stopped)I'm still nursing and now it's a month later and I have not had a second period. could I be pregnant even though I was clearly not ovulationg when we had sex? I've taken at home preg test and it came back negative. but still no period and I'm anxious.
has this happened to anyone else? or when you were nursing did you get your period and then have it go away again? thanks in advance for any thoughts!

Your period likely hasn't gone away, but your cycles can be longer while nursing. If you don't ovulate within a few days of having sex, no, you can't be pregnant. It took me several cycles for my period to normalize, and I even had at least one anovulatory cycle while nursing.

After my period came back after I stopped bfing, it took about three months to get completely back to normal.
