Can anybody tell me anything about working at main Treasury? Please!

I have a tough decision to make about whether I want to accept an attorney position in main Treasury. Any insight at all in what it might be like to work there would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Main Treasury is a very big place, and the jobs are very, very diverse so I can't say much. The building is lovely.

Thanks. I am aware that there is diversity. But at this point I am really just looking for any information I can get at all. At a minimum, any other component office would be my client, so I might as well know about that as well.

I work at main Treasury (MT) and although I focus in a technical area, I work closely with colleagues across departments and across the offices of general counsel. I can honestly say it is a wonderful place to work. Everyone is incredibly intelligent and dedicated and incredibly kind. I love my work across the agency because of the talented and lovely people I work with. You can work long hours in GC so don't be fooled. There is a tremendous amount of last minute clearing on documents for seniors which goes on, and GC must engage in that process.

It is a bit place, but I have been universally impressed. I've worked there for three years, and Treasury has an incredible workforce. I don't think you can go wrong. I will also say that there are many opportunities outside of GC. If your position is in GC and you don't like it, you can move to other positions which are more policy oriented. Good luck!
