Expectant and Postpartum Moms
| I'm a patient at the CWC office in Silver Spring with Drs. Ein and many others. Dr. Ein delivered my first via c-section due to the baby being stuck sunny side up with a prolonged accelerated heart rate while I pushed (for 2 hours). I am told I'm a 'pretty good' candidate for a VBAC by a few different doctors at this practice and been very happy with the practice overall, but the 'pretty good' message makes me wonder if they are really on board (or if there are risks in my history that I'm not seeing)? Just curious if others have had a VBAC with doctors in this practice and whether you felt they were fully supportive? |
| I'm a patient at the CWC in Bethesda/Rockville and all 6 drs there are very supportive of VBAC. |

No experience with c-sections with these guys, but I love the practice. I feel like they are pretty straight shooters and if they weren't cool with you getting a VBAC, it's hard to believe they would mislead you. I think they would say, we advise against it, etc. From what I understand about VBACs, they are a great option for some women. If you fit the criteria, it seems safe and recommended based on the recent NIH study results.
Have you met with the midwives at the practice? I believe they don't deliver but they may give you a more straight answer. |
| I am not familiar with this practice, but I would take it as a very encouraging sign that you are considered a good candidate. I also pushed for two hours (although mine was not posterior), and I am not considered a good candidate (I'm the OP of the "RCS vs VBAC when you're not a great candidate" thread that was just posted yesterday). I go to Georgetown. |
