playgroup for autistic or sensory issue toddlers

My son just turned 2 and has autism. We are looking for other families who may want to have playdates. We also have 7 month old twins. We live in herndon/reston.

Hello - Great - We are really having trouble meeting anyone with a child on the spectrum. Do you have other children? We are in the process of going throuvh some medical test or evaluation every day right now which has been really tough. My son's first mri revelaed he has chiari malfromation in his brain which affects his motor skills, balance and causes headaches so he has to have even more tests than your average kid on the spectrum. Has your son had alot of tests? Where are you guys moving from? Im not that familiar with gathersburg but my husband has worked in rockville and bethesda on and off for years.

We are moving from NJ. I have an almost 5 year old son.

My 2 year old has hypotonia ( low muscle tone) which affects his speech and gross and fine motor skills.
He can't walk, but is receiving tons of therapy and his therapists believe he will walk.

We have been for the typical evaluations ( developmental, neurologist, etc....).
We will start other testing this summer once we move. The doctors in NJ believe he has
a syndrome that has autistic like tendencies.

We move the weekend of June 10th.

My daughter also has low muscle tone and it's been difficult to find play groups as well. She's 14 months and not crawling/walking but also in therapy. My email address is [e-mail].
