| I'm trying to cut out processed sugar and gluten from my diet for medical reasons. I am a HUGE sugar and pasta addict (and bread.. and muffins..and cupcakes.. I basically have really poor eating habits!) and I'm not quite sure how I am going to get through this. Any tips? Also, what if I do it 80% of the way and not 100%.. will that give me any effect? Or is it the kind of thing where it's all or nothing? I don't have celiac, btw, this is just to reduce inflammation for another issue. |
| I eat a gluten-free/dairy-free/low-sugar diet for health reasons as well. It has proved VERY helpful to me. I can "cheat" a bit on the sugar front without noticing too much of an issue but I can't cheat at all on the gluten or dairy-free part of my diet. I am not sure if it would be the same for you. As for pasta, there are some good gluten-free pastas. I like Bionaturae GF Pasta (http://www.bionaturae.com/gluten-free-pasta.html). They even sell it at the Giant by my house. There are also a number of blogs and recipe books that are really good. The hardest thing for me is that eating out (which I used to LOVE) is not that easy anymore. However, I have learned to cook some good foods at home that I really enjoy. Good luck with the diet! |
