Where to go for a Brazilian?

Ok ladies. Summer is here, the pool is opening next week. I'm tired of shaving so where do I go for a Brazilian wax? Hopefully under $100.

I go to Red Door in Wildwood, Bethesda and use Irina. I think its $70 but she is great!

I also hear Blue Mercury in Bethesda is good.

I've had them at Bluemercury, Red Door, Sugar House and Bliss. Bliss wins. They use the least painful technique and wax. Yes, there is a difference. They use oil on the skin and a type of wax that just adheres to the hair. They aren't pulling as much skin as with other waxes so it hurts less. It isn't pain free, but much more bearable than the other places. they other places do a great job, but they are more painful. The waxing costs 70.

There are bliss salons like the product? Any in MD?

PP who recommended Bliss. The only Bliss Salon is in the W Hotel downtown. The Bliss salons spawned the product line. I've never had them try to sell me any of the products, though. I know you can get the products at Sephora and they use those products in the treatments.

Hands down best Brazilian I have ever had is with Jessica at the Red Door Pentagon City. It's $70 and worth every cent. (BTW, RD uses a hard wax, which I find more comfortable than a standard wax and infinitely more comfortable than sugaring, but RD just got a new kind of hard wax and it is even better.)

I LOVE Francoise at Jacques Dessange in Chevy Chase. It used to be $35. Now, it's probably more now but I am willing to bet it is still WAY cheaper than elsewhere. She is quick, thorough and keeps you occupied with stories the whole time.

I went to the spa at Lux Studios in Bethesda. They use the pain-less wax. The esthetician is extremely thorough and made me feel comfortable. The brazilian was only $55! Once I found this place I wont go any place else.

Amanda at Celadon in DC is the best. I've been going to her for years. Quick, easy and the spa is nice, and very clean, which is very important to me!
