Lead question

I have a question regarding lead paint on clothing. Could this be potentially dangerous if lead paint is on clothing, then washed in a washing machine (and dryed) and then babys stuff washed in same washer and dryer? I share a washer and dryer with a tenant, and they work in construction on older buildings (he may even still use some of that paint). I wipe it out before I use them, but last week I found paint chips in the dryer. (I quickly cleaned them out)! Now I am not a parent who belives in putting their child in a bubble, but I know lead paint is very dangerous. Thoughts? BTW I have an anxiety disorder so I don't really need to hear the over worried mothers opinions. No offense.

To be hazardous, your child has to ingest the lead... Not sure your DC would be able to ingest lead in any harmful or measurable amounts through the means you've described.

Also, it's doubtful that the tenant is currently using lead-based paint... I think it was banned back in the early 70s... (Not to say that there may be lead-based paint chips from old paint that is being removed....)
