1/2 the power is out in my house

very wierd, the powder room and random outlets and lights are out all over the house after the storm. we checked the breakers and the gfci outlets and nothing changed. anyone experienced the same problem?

sometimes a circuit breaker trips but it's not visibly over on the other side.

thanks, but we don't have fuses, (old technology) we have breakers that we've already checked. any other ideas??

Sometimes a power surge can zap certain parts of the house. Hope that isn't it, though, because it can also wreck your appliances!

We had this problem, and it turned out that it was a Pepco issue. There actually were two separate power lines that powered our home, and one was on the fritz. You might call Pepco to see if it is a known issue.

The main power distribution is multi-phased, and sometimes one of the phases can be down but not the others. I'm surprised this would affect your outlets, but definitely call Pepco.
