Negotiating Verizon Phone Plan

How much can you actually negotiate with them? Have never bought a phone plan as I've always had it covered through work and don't know what I can expect. I'm approaching this like buying a car, but am I wrong and that you really just pay whatever is advertised?

I don't think you can really negotiate the plans. You can always up or downgrade your plan though if you need more or fewer minutes.

They will do things like throw in a case or car charger though.

I never tried to negotiate the monthly rate, but we do get a corporate discount on AT&T through my DH's company - you might look into that. Also when I had verizon years ago I did get them to give me the new phone credit several months early when my phone broke (okay, I dropped it on cement . . . um, several times).
