Old town restaurant recs

DH and I are looking for an anniversary dinner that won't break the bank (no restaurant eve!). We were thinking about vermilion- opinions? We're comfortable spending $150 or so. Some of our favorite restaurants in DC are zaytinya, central, Montmartre, rasika. Any suggestions?

You could do the bistro at Eve. That won't break the bank like the Eve Tasting Room will. We also like Majestic and Vermillion.

I second Majestic Cafe, don't miss the Caesar salad! Vermillion is good, too. You could try Brabo, in the Hotel Lorien on upper King Street. We also love Hank's but it doesn't feel like a special occasion place.

I like Brabo but it is quieter than any of your DC favorites. The Majestic is more like them in terms of atmosphere but I've never been thrilled with the food or service there. I don't think Vermillion is anything special.

The regular dining room at Restaurant eve will not break the bank unless you buy an expensive wine. We also like Brabo...food and service is good.

Been to Vermillion a couple times and it is okay.

Have you thought about going to 2941 in Falls Church as another option to Old Town?

Try doing the tasting menu at Vermilion. We love it. We actually prefer it to the Bistro at Eve.
