You know everyone at your school and are actively involved in the PTA. You will become PTA president in a few years time. The kids' classmates all know you and will sometimes hug you at school. You stock not only your kids' favorite treats but the treats their best friends like. You have unfinished scrapbooks at home. And you would like to update the kitchen, but after paying for private school, it is not an option. So you content yourself with buying random knicknacks to spruce up the place. Your DH is frugal and is constantly worried about if he's socking away enough money for retirement and college. You don't know this but, you guys are doing the best financially in your circle, as you are the only ones actually saving.

They are identical twins with different hair whorl patterns. After having twins, you are done having kids. Two is plenty. You intentionally dress them differently and have requested that they be put in separate classes. You have come to regret this as most birthday parties will only invite one twin and you have to chauffeur them to double the parties. You and DH are beer connoisseurs and own an upscale bar that serves tapas.

Everyone in your family has gorgeous thick curly hair. Molly's current wish is to get an American girl doll exactly like herself and to go to the American Girl store/hair salon/tea in NYC. You are considering doing this as she got mostly As on her report card. Your DH is okay with you and her making it a girls only weekend. DH and you first met at a wedding. Somehow you managed to catch his eye despite wearing a rather unfortunate bridesmaid dress and having a rather unflattering updo. He, on the other hand, looked hot in his tux.

Nathan & Caleb

You come from a big, loving family, and growing up in the New England, counted down the days until you could have your own children. You always wanted 4, though you weren't quite prepared for how crazy two little close-in-age boys would be, and so at least for now, you're stopping at 2... with some regrets about that third child you may never have. Nathan is a hellion. Cute as can be, and a total momma's boy, but stubborn as hell and won't take no for an answer. Caleb is your chill little love, who loves his big brother fiercely, but happily retreats to your lap when Nate starts in on his crazy ninja kicks.

You are highly educated, and very devoted to your career in educated (now in administration) but part of you longs to be a SAHM. Your husband is a business exec, and while a very loving father, your roles in the family very much fall along traditional gender lines - which is fine with you most of the time. You have a large social circle, though fear you might be alienating the family across the street who you used to be so close to, now that Nathan has started pouncing on their daughter every time you get together (he has a thing with pretending to be a tiger) .

Even though Avery is a short name, you often call her Av affectionally. When you are mad, you yell out her first and middle names. "Avery Emerson! You get down here this instant!" Avery sports a chin length bob and you go out of your way to order non pink/non purple clothes online. You think periwinkle is a great color, not too girlish yet bright and pretty. You and DH are easy going, laid back parents, you are not the parents who say no to things. Avery will never be the one with the earliest curfew and she will get the old family car the minute she gets her license. In your free time, you and DH do races, triathlons, and mudder runs with your friends. Your DH is seriously thinking of doing an Iron Man.

Right on everything except DH and I are the furthest thing from the marathon/triathlon type of couple.

This is good! Description of kids is scarily accurate. No desire to be a SAHM and not so much with the traditional gender roles, but pretty good overall

Everyone in your family is exceptionally tall. Currently, Marlene is a head taller than the tallest boy in her class. She is already shopping in the juniors department in elementary school. She is best friends with Olivia, the second tallest girl in the class. You will come to realize that tallness has many hidden benefits, she will always be dead center in all the choir/class photos and will start dating later than her peers (thank the heavens!). You grew up on a farm and married early to escape the farm life. That marriage ended amicably with no children. Marlene is your child with your second husband, an accountant with a perchant for suspenders and bowties. You have more pairs of boots than high heels and you are amazingly cool-headed in emergencies. You know CPR and basic first aid and are considering becoming a doula.

You watched Gilmore Girls a lot during your first pregnancy. You considered naming your second DD Lorelei but decided that would be too cheesy so decided to go with the unisex name theme instead. You live in the suburbs & signed all your girls up for organized sports as soon as they were eligible.Your DH coaches one of their teams. Two of your DDs are athletic & love sports but one DD, much to your DH's disappointment, lacks coordination & would rather read than play sports. You are disappointed, as well, but mostly because you fear that DD will become fat since she's already a little chubby & you've battled your own weight issues since childhood.

Your family has strong, proud military roots. There is a large American flag outside your door.. Kylie used to be a Girl Scout but now wants to try cheerleading. She is one of the popular kids. Your DH is a hunter and is a big time sports fan. He especially loves football and ice hockey but keeps tabs on all sports news. Your tv has been on the Stanley Cup. Oftentimes you guys will wear team jerseys while the game is on.

Or just a Minogue fan?

The most interesting thing I saw in the article, was that in parents with lower education levels there were no differences. Most of the distinctions were with the highly educated parents.
