Can anyone recommend a fun place to take an out of town friend for brunch that is somewhere near the national cathedral or union station, or between the two? Thank you!
There is a Cafe Deluxe on Wisconsin Ave. near the National Cathedral and a Mexican place (Cactus Cantina?) across from Cafe Deluxe. There also are lots of places in Dupont Circle.
Circa at Dupont is good for brunch. Great coffee, wonderful Eggs Benedict.
The Dubliner!
There's a lot of places-- you might need to give more info. than "fun" but Birch and Barley and Cafe Atlantico are two possibilities.
Teaism?
B. Smith's at Union Station.
|
I like Teaism for lunch not so much for brunch.
POV on top of the W (old hotel washington) might be fun. |
Tabard Inn. Or Bourbon in Adam's Morgan has a really nice little back patio and good food--if you cut across the park (via Porter, I think) and then over to Adam's Mill into Adam's Morgan, it's not too far from the Cathedral and parking there in the morning is easy.
Absolutely Tabard Inn. Best brunch in DC, IMO. And very unique, perfect for out of town friend. Get the homemade donuts!
If it's a Sunday, I'd think about B. Smith's at Union Station.
