Just decided to do a short getaway for Memorial Day weekend and didn't want to go somewhere crowded and go "off the beaten path". Please let me know if you have taken a trip there and what your thoughts are? We are going for two nights with two toddlers and staying at the Bay View, renting a family cottage.

Tangier is definitely off the beaten path. Bring extra money to charter a boat if possible, fishing, crabbing and sand castle supplies, and a cooler with family favorites & necessities - the selection at the general store is not that great. Bug spray, sunscreen, hats and a shade umbrella. Swimsuits and surf shoes. Get ready for the best crab cakes ever. There is not much to do, so you spend time poking along the shoreline or sitting on a dock with a crab trap.
