Preschool and Daycare Discussion
|
I am a WAHM who needs childcare for my 8 month old infant to cover meetings I attend in person. I think I need 2-10 hours/week for now. I generally (~90% of the time) know when I'll need to attend a meeting a week in advance. It's usually between 9 and 3. We have been calling licensed in-home providers from the county's website, but I feel like I'm missing something in my approach to finding people/places. I am okay with paying a "use or lose" minimum. I am also curious what centers have drop-in care. I'm in S. Arlington but anywhere nearby is great.
Has anyone found care options like this? Any tips for how or where to search? (I have been scouring DCUM and will continue to look here for info/experiences.) Thank you. |
| There are sitter services you might want to consider. Try posting on the general parenting board, I've read reviews there on sitter options. |
My husband stays home with our 7 month old daughter and could watch your infant on an as-needed basis. He's not licensed and we live in an apartment, but we're centrally located in Arlington, between Court House and Clarendon off of Lee Hwy, one block from the Lyon Village children's park. Oh, and we have a cat (if that's an issue)-he isn't really interested in babies so he just leaves them alone (even if they pull his tail ).
