Dr. Bridges's Office Staff

Anonymous
Does anyone know what is going on with the office staff over at Dr. Bridges? I have been treated like utter crap lately and given that I'm 37 weeks pregnant I don't have much patience for it anymore! Anyone else experiencing this or is it just me?

I've had a few appointments in the last couple months, and the staff has been very friendly and helpful. Not sure why you're having trouble but sorry to hear it.

I had similar issues, they were unfriendly and not very helpful. I also had problems with Dr. Bridges himself and decided to leave the office and am so much happier with the new one.

OP Here- PP may I ask what problems you had with Dr. Bridges and who you go to now?

My husband and I have found Dr. Bridges to be good. But, yes, his staff in recent months has seemed inattentive, impatient and, at times, disorganized. They have also been short and, at least once, wouldn't give us an answer as to what they were drawing blood for (just said a bunch of pregnancy things is what the nurse said). It also took separate calls from my husband and from me (and lots of talking on them) to get an informational visit before our first prenatal exam. I understand that these are not normally done and that the office is small and very busy. But, we had questions and medical concerns and we didn't think it prudent to wait until nine weeks to get answers.

I am very disappointed to read these posts...I recently switched to Dr. Bridges after leaving a very large, impersonal OB/GYN assembly line type of place. I switched after reading so many positives about him on DCUM. Any one have anythign positive to say? I 've only been once but didn't have any problems, however, I recently referred a colleague to him and she also thought the office staff was rude.

I am a patient of Dr. Bridge's and have not been impressed at all with his office staff. I find them to be rude and not especially competent.

OP Here. It's sad b/c I really really like Dr. Bridges himself. I am no shrinking violet, maybe I will let him know how I feel next time I am there, which just happens to be today!

PP - Please let us know how you get on. I have my first appointment with Dr. Bridges in a couple of weeks. I selected him based on all of the great reviews on this board, so was disappointed to read the posts in this thread.

Just curious if Friday's 8:47 poster had a chance to talk to Dr. Bridges about this issue on Friday?

OP Here- I didn't get to talk to him b/c I forgot that I had rescheduled my appointment for this week... Very forgetful these days...

Any update or recent experiences with this practice?

I've also had challenges with the office staff - but really like Dr. Bridges and have been going to him for years. I just decided to try to not let it bother me - but it is really frustrating especially since this is my first and I have no idea what to expect.

The staff used to be a lot better. When Monica was working the front desk. The person working the front desk now is not competent. I called the other day and identified myself, then said that I had missed a period and had pain on my right side. She said, "So what do you want?" For real. Then she put me on hold for so long that I hung up. She called back to offer me an appt and again put me on hold (twice!)

Ultimately though, I'm willing to put up with quite a bit of staffing problems and waiting periods to get to the doctor. I think Dr. Bridges is a great doctor and I wouldn't go elsewhere because he has a bad staff or makes me wait. I always bring a book.
