Vitrification is a high-tech freezing process. CCRM in Colorado uses it. I don't know if anyone in the DC area uses it. Depending on what your issue is, it can make a difference in your outcome. For us, we were producing good embryos, but were losing like 1-2 everytime we did a thaw. We were told in Colorado that with vitrification, the loss rate of embryos on thaw is much much less than regular freezing.

I believe Dominion uses vitrification. Their thaw success rate is around 90%.

GWU has been using vitrification for ~2 yrs now. It's a quick freezing process for storing embryo's/sperm.
