I've been a member for about 6 years and I'm still happy. It's pricy (I think most people pay around $150/month), but larger and nicer than most gyms. I stick with it because its more convenient than all of the newer gyms that have opened. Some people try to paint it as either snobby or elite, but mostly there are just a bunch of lawyers, lobbyists and consultant types coming in to workout, with some "ladies who lunch" types during the weekday. For the most part, everyone is nice, with some socializing if you want that but nothing like a country club. Hours are fine, but not as good as other gyms (they are closed on major holidays). A few classes can be crowded on weekends, but generally the gym is less crowded than any other I've been to - I think that is one thing worth the money. Another is that the locker rooms and gym floor are kept very neat and clean. I think the extras (special classes, run club, spa) are overpriced, and don't use them.
