s/o Have you ever violated HOV intentionally?

When I drive in the HOV lanes, which is not often, it seems that every third car has fewer than three people.

Is cheating really that rampant? Have you done it and found it's easy to get away with?

Occasionally when I'm driving next to the HOV lane (and I abide by the HOV times always), I will see cars passing by with only passenger (not at least 2).

I see a lot of cheating. I also see a lot of people being pulled over for it, especially in the mornings.

Bear in mind many of the 1 person vehicles have the hybrid HOV plates.

I see a lot of cheating on 395 in the afternoon. I was behind a car last week that started to exit onto the HOV portion, then swerved back over the the non-HOV side. I realized why when I saw a cop who had pulled over an HOV-violator sitting on the entrance ramp! I do not violate the HOV since I feel like I would be the one to get a ticket. The ones who cheat and do not have tinted windows are clearly not the brightest! (and I'm referring to cars that do not have the special license plates, not just hybrids in general since the rules on 395 are different than 66)

OP here. The cheating I see is on 66. I wonder if 395 is better or worse.

on 66 all you need is 2 ppl.

I cheated once on 66 on purpose. It was only for a few miles, I saw a cop and switched lanes. Two people behind me were cheating, and no one would let them over, the cop pulled them over lol.

I cheat and think everyone else should too especially on 66. It's ridiculous that people are backed up for miles on 395 while there are two lanes next to them virtually empty. Populations have grown in the area and 6 lanes are the minimum needed.

I did it once intentionally, I got on about 15 minutes before they were open to everyone. I had to pick up my child from aftercare before it closed and got out of work late. Since I work as a nanny, I can't just leave if my boss is running behind. They are very rarely late, but things happen sometimes.
