Extended day and Enrichment Programs-- Is there a difference?

Our son is going to start K next year in Arlington and we both work full time so we're investigating our options for the afternoons. I've seen references to Extended Day care offered at each school, but I've also seen references to Enrichment programs. Are these the same thing? If not, how does Enrichment work? Do you pay separately for each one?

Extended day is every day, the whole year. Enrichment programs are temporary, usually one day a week for 6-8 weeks. You don't have to enroll in Extended Day to do enrichment, but your child can be picked up from and returned to Extended Day if your son signs up for program.
