Lots of shady stuff going on down there. The family friend who died was kemp's daughter's boyfriend, harrison deal, who was also a loefller staffer and a former perdue intern. He’s going to have other Republicans run against him - including his current Lieutenant Governor.

Usually no one primaries a sitting Governor or President (like no one ran against Trump in the GOP in 2020) who has decided to run again.
