What is child’s race if one parent is white and one is Asian?

People may think their kids do, but you can always tell there's a little something else mixed with those white genes. I've even seen it with kids who are 1/4 Asian.

You haven’t seen mine. They’re half white/half South Asian. I’m guessing bc South Asians can also be Caucasian, the only thing needed was a color switch to make them white. I must have the least dominant genes ever.

I think that people of color are pretty good at spotting mixed people of their own heritage. I have an almost flawless track record when it comes to guessing African descent at 1/4 or far less. However, my cousin’s wife is constantly pointing out half-Asian kids that I would never have guessed.

I am curious as to why this is even important. If it is, why are you asking after the child has been born

Why does a simple question cause 12 pages of opinion?

+1.

That's been common in every society.

White people like to believe this, but no. Speaking as an African, light skin was never valued in virtually any of our cultures until you criminals came along.

You are so clueless it's pathetic.

Truly.

Speaking as an African, you should know that the first people who invaded you and enslaved you were Muslim Arabs, and that indeed light skin was valued above darker skin by said criminals CENTURIES before Europeans even showed up.

You are a disgrace to your family and to your country and to your continent.

Psssst.

Its easy to guess when you were raised or lived and worked around minorities all your life. Heck my latino mom can guess a persons race without meeting them and talking to them on the phone.

Arabs are white though? So were the spaniards who invaded the americas. Their skins were lighter so it was them that placed their white skin on a pedestal and being prejudiced against those with darker skin but did africans suddenly want to douse in bleaching creams or make it a billion dollar industry along with facial surgery to erase any traces of their ethnicity? I can think only of asia who does this.

Hi, non-African liar, you sound very upset. You must be one of the pink criminals I referenced. It’s possible to despise you yellow-haired cave dwellers while being aware of Arab incursions into Africa as well. But I know, I know — it’s hard to understand how critical thinking works when your parents stole and cheated your way through school for you.

Still advancing the canard that all members of a race speak the same way, huh? I loathe ignoramuses like you and your nonexistent “latino” mom.

Because colleges discriminate against Asians in admissions.

My kids are 1/4 Asian and most people can’t tell that they aren’t mixed because they pretty much look white.

I don’t know if that many half kids who look white enough that no one would guess there were Asian genes mixed in. Though, I think a lot of times mixed Asian-white kids look Latino.

Same for my kids. One kid as more Asisn facial features but because of her hair (dark, thick, curly) people think the is Latina. The other one has less Asian facial features, and white ppl think she's white; but most other races recognized that she is mixed.
