And Cory Booker? |
It would be lovely to see her take in a refugee family awaiting court hearing for asylum. Also, the Obamas who are in a good school area or could send the children to Sidwell (who would fall all over themselves for them).Clintons, similarly. have an ample DC home in a great area of town. Stunning, with room for many. |
If she grew up in Westchester it's very chi chi. It's oretty much baby-Greenwich CT. As for the Bronx, that is also quite gentrified in the past twenty years, |
These people would never make it past the front gate of politicians' homes, schools, country clubs or any other private spaces unless they are coming to clean the place. The rest of us have to take then into our neighborhoods and public schools. |
AOC could benefit from reading the DCUM Money forum; her current spending habits pose a clear threat of future financial stress.
While she may be paid $168,000 now, it is only for two years. To position herself financially should she not be re-elected, she should be living on her previous salary, net of taxes and adjusted for lower DC COL, and banking all the extra, contributing the $6000 max to a Roth IRA and setting aside between $50,000 to $100,000 in an emergency fund. Of course she should be maxing her 401 K. Don't know if she has student or credit card loans, but if she does she should plan on paying them off completely during the next two years while she has the cash flow to do so. This would allow her to go back to her previous salary in a better debt-free position with a cushion for emergencies. Achieving this could leave no room for a luxury apartment, even if it is only Navy Yards and could point toward group housing for her and her boyfriend. It could also make Uber, Starbucks, eating out, and shopping at Whole Foods luxuries she could afford only occasionally. DCUM Money Forum would also recommend that she shop for clothes at thrift stores, limit haircuts to a few a year at Hair Cuttery, and buy groceries at Aldi, but I don't think there is one in DC. |
I'll take a "latte liberal" any day over a hypocrite con who virtue signals with his "family values" and votes against women's health or against LGBTQ rights while conducting affairs on the side either with a woman whose abortions he pays for or with a male staffer or someone he just met in the bathroom stall next to his. Any day. |
"Any publicity is good publicity."
Y'all just making her star shine brighter, you know that? Ha ha. |
Fauxgressives. |
Give me a break. A) Being a democratic socialist doesn’t mean you have to take a vow of poverty; it means you care about the 99% and B) You don’t seem well versed in DC housing and the fact that the amenities in many average but not truly “posh” buildings in the area have ramped up as buildings compete for residents. |
How’d she get a lease in a place like that with a credit score of 430?
Did she pay her lease up front, in cash? |
How do you know she has a credit score of 430? If true she really needs to be reading the DCUM Money Forum as suggested above. |
You are ridiculous. That's all. You clearly don't live any where near DC so please keep your opinions to yourself. You sound stupid. |
Exactly. |
Hi! DMV here for a status check on how many units in the building are set aside for the historically financially-oppressed? |
Theres another thread saying this admin is fighting for LGBTQ rights on an international scale...did you miss that? |
