It builds character. Third, so many adults make astoundingly stupid car-related financial decisions, it's best not to set your kid up for failure.

I learned on my parents new car. It wasn't fancy but the only one with air bags at the time. They drove the beater car as they wanted us safe.

You can do whatever you want, But, I think the jeep wrangler is a bad choice for a new driver. Just like a Dodge Hellcat would be.

Me? If I was giving my DD a new 40K car, it would be a Subaru Outback loaded with the smaller engine and all of the safety features (Eyesight). That would be 35K. The last 5K would go to defensive driving lessons.

With that said, I can not afford to throw away 40K. So, next year, when DD drives, she will get a hand-me down: a reliable, safe, and slow car (2011 Subaru Outback).

So for all the anti Jeep folks. Wranglers have some of lowest insurance rates for a reason! And for the folks that say they are unreliable well I doubt you can get a lifetime maxcare warrenty with a Honda! My Wrangler has a bumper to bumper lifetime 999,988 mile warranty that expires in 2098.

Let her have fun and send her to a few Jeep Jamborees in the summer! Learning to drive off road is much safer than hauling ass in a BMW.
