What to do about Affordable Housing in Arlington?

PP That was very gracious of you.

Exploding school enrollment + rapidly declining commercial real estate base + more affordable housing = huge increases in residential real estate rates in Arlington over the next few years.

Just saw this in Arl Now.

I get that seniors and people with disabilities may need some help but why are they trying to put 3000 affordable housing units along Columiba Pike. This is crazy.

sorry it didn't work before.

"Dennis Observer" had a great comment about how John Vihstadt tried to stop it. Hero.

Wrong way to look. You may not need this service. Or you might. That is why its called social INSURANCE. Like evaluating if someone who had cancer is taking too much from health insurance.

social insurance for people who have never paid into it, no.

The two sets of parents never lived in Arlington, until the day they moved here in order to get benefits.

I paid into this county for five years. My husband has paid in 5 years as well. If the county allows our relatives to be placed in AH, then nothing is going to stop us from helping our family get those spots. As someone said, it is social insurance. No one is stopping you from helping your family get AH spots. My family has worked their whole life in back breaking labor and they deserve this. I will use my knowledge to get more family placed, and yes, some of them will have kids. Some more than others. Deal with it.

We are trying our hardest to help our family and you have no heart if you wrote a nasty comment about how I have helped my family.

I hope in your day job as a Vietnamese or Chinese dentist that you are a maker, because you are certainly a taker.

Listen this chick has it nailed. She has impoverished her parents and her husband's parents so that she can get them into affordable housing. Next will be she impoverishes them to get into Medicaid beds in assisted living or nursing homes. She is not going to spend a cent on her parents. Why do it? She has "paid" into Arlington County for five years.

We have the makers and the takers. This chick is definitely a taker, and she will milk the system so that she has to do nothing for her parents.

If she has kids, they will do the same thing. But wait until she sees and smells the Medicaid beds in the nursing homes.

The problem is the Arlington County and AH AND APAH. THEY DON'T KNOW HOW TO STOP THE AFFORDABLE. Fairfax isn't doing any business with Affordable Housing LLC AND APAH.

County members are committed to affordable. And Arlingtonian does have lots of complains, but board members are not listening to tax payers, but they listen to affordable developers.

Ugh, just heard today from a neighbor that there is going to be a big meeting in Westover in July about affordable housing in the neighborhood.
