Hugs to you. I'm so sorry that your son had to endure being mistreated. You're doing the right thing by removing him from an unsafe environment. |

Thank you. I'm appalled that any school system would tolerate such an environment, but they do. I feel so badly for the kids who aren't lucky enough to get out either via COSA or private/parochial. |
| I was bused for a couple years from the suburbs to the inner city. It was no big deal, and most families did it. Honors classes were still honors classes. You do realize that if moco started busing, your children would continue to be surrounded by kids like them? There would just also be some kids who came from poorer families. And there's no inner city in moco -- just more suburbs. |
It is not cost. It is uneducated and easy. Have you seen Costco? It is like a third world country in there buying a bunch of crap food in bulk quantities. I see people spending food stamps on wants, not fruits and veggies. Saying it is only cost is a cop out. It is a way of life. No one is slicing up fruit or serving carrots. They are what they have learned. |
I have heard that MoCo is a magnet in Central America. There are people touting the benefits and making it sound like you just show up and are given everything you need. Ask around in the Hispanic community what the reputation is and why they came or their friends came. |
