Something I don't understand about criticism of big families

I think humans are unique in the animal kingdom in that we have the power to take control of our own fertility. This means that we can avoid a Malthusian nightmare of overcrowding, overpopulation, famine and pollution. We could chose to have a pleasant future where green space is preserved and densities are appropriate. That is one reason why I find it disgusting that some people, having swallowed a whole bunch of nonsense, are trying to take us down a path that would lead to misery for the human race.

You just do the math - you have 11 kids, your kids have 11 kids, and so on. Tell me what the world when then be like in 4 or 5 generations?
