+1. I have other reasons for disliking Gisele but I think she has handled the step kid thing well. If anything, she's been taked over the coals for saying things like she has 3 kids when people freaked out and acted like that was an erasure of Bridget. The coparenting here seems to have gone generally well and I would be shocked if all of a sudden Gisele didn't continue to play a role in his life. That just doesn't seem to be how they've operated.

Right, and Bridget and Gisele are close - it seemed like an ideal coparenting relationship. There’s no reason to believe Giselle does not still keep in touch with Ben.

Have you seen his documentary? He didn’t play until an unprecedented 45 years of age because it’s a 16 weeks activity that he does….it was all consuming for him. It meant going to bed at 8 o’clock every night of the year and getting up in the pre-dawn hours to train. Planning absolutely everything he puts in his body, spending hours watching replays of tape from practices and games, spending hours rehabbing his body, sauna, physical therapy, massage, stretching.

His career is admirable, but to act like he was a normal football player is insane.

You can hear, in countless interviews he did during his career where he thanks Giselle for all she has sacrificed for his career. He has lamented that he was not there for his kids in a way that he wanted to be because of his career.

I’m not defending her, but it’s pretty clear Tom is all about Tom and I feel like he would be impossible to be married to. I also feel like it would be hard to be married to her so in that way, they were a good match, but ultimately they couldn’t make it work.

It did seem like they had come to an agreement about his retirement, and then when he went against that, that was the straw that broke the camels back. it seemed like he knew what he was doing and knew it was going to end his marriage and he went along and did it anyway. Who knows what really happened but that is certainly what it looked like from the outside.
