Rising senior parents - don't do ED

Of the about dozen tippy top students that DC is friends with at the highly competitive HS, only 1 did ED to Duke. All ended up at T20, though not all of them got to HYPSM's which is what they really wanted.

True. My kid was rejected at ED to UChicago. She was accepted to Yale RD. So it is a far stretch. Seriously, stop. These kids are all at the highest caliber.

Hhhmmm…the same gaslighting UChicago hater. Several months ago there was ONE incident of a robbery at gunpoint on the corner of a through street at the edge of the 200 acre campus (no one was hurt). ONE. And tens of thousands of students, faculty and staff traverse the campus every day with no incident. So one Columbia student was tragically killed in Central Park not long ago. So by that logic, no one should attend Columbia (or ever enter Central Park either?) Ridiculous! Go hide in your closet.

Your experience is different than ours. Our DD had the stats, but like all top schools, at the one she really wanted, it's a crap shoot. She choose ED, and is a rising junior. Still thrilled with her choice and wouldn't change a thing

Unclear. But saying you have no shot at northwestern in RD was wrong this year.

Likely due to their budget crisis so full pay privates got the benefit of the doubt?
